It's interesting to watch your progress. it looks form the pics that you are building it inside a fenced area. Also is your soil sandy? It looks pretty sandy in the pics. Is it one or 2 levels?

Nice job on the utilities. I just love the look of all those pipe sticking up from the ground!!!

How big is your water main? It sure looks big from what I can see in the pics!!!

Did you install it? I'm curious why the blue glue was used after the purple primer?

Thanks for the pics,
Eddie

My water main is 320' of 2inch overkill probably. The second pic shows dirt piles in the forground that trench will be for irragation.I don't have a answer about the glue and primer is it ok,or am I doomed?

socally,

I don't know if your doomed with the blue glue or not, but my water district only uses clear. I can use anything I want here as I have no codes, but they said that every other color has failed for them and only clear is the one that they feel is permanent.

Why blue and red are sold is a mystery. I know one is good for wet conditions and dries super fast, but it's speed cuts down on it's strength.

They also said that a rough estimate is for every half inch increase in pipe diameter, you increase volume 2 1/2 times. So you have two and a half more volume in your two inch line than if you had put in an inch and a half line.

Here, most water mains are 2 inch and supply water for a couple dozen homes. My concern is that you will never be able to use that much water and it will turn stale on you in the lines. Since I'm planning on building an RV Park on my land, I ran a 6 inch water main into my place. About every 4 months, I have to open a 2 inch valve at the end of the line and flush the lines.

Do you have to cover your lines in sand? Where I worked in the SF Bay Area, we had to have a foot of sand all around the water mains. Then it had to be jetted with water to compact it before you could fill the trenches with dirt.

Eddie, I asked the sb/county inspector about the primer this morning (she)said that it was code. 2 inch pipe is what I thought I wanted thinking bigger is better I guess, I am running quite a few 1 1/2 inch lines off the main 2 inch for watering 150 trees. I just back filled the trench with the dirt I removed it's pretty much all sand/silt.The sb/county inspector said nothing about what not to do. I am full of new fears and will have nightmares about blue glue and busted pipes HAHAHAHA Eddie I will tell you that I am no jack of all trades I'm pretty green in alot of areas. This is the first time in my young life that I have commited my self to such a large project I just hope I can finish it.

Im not sure what you used exactly but some of the colord glues are just tints so that you (and the inspector) can see that you have full coverage of the pipe.
