Sorry to hear about your dad.

The house looks great. I was curious how you were going to fiish off the exterior, but after seeing the chicken wire, it's pretty obvious.

Most of the new PT lumber is ACQ (alkaline copper quaternary). Its the high copper content that reacts with the galvanized fasteners and hangers. There are some hangers that are "double" galvanized that are supposed to hold up longer. The best would be to use stainless steel, if you can afford it.
There are new types of treated lumber coming out that use different methods of preservatives. They have a limited availability, though.

The house really looks great. I didn't realize that you were putting in two fireplaces!!! They both look awesome. Is the corner one in the master bedroom?

Are they propane units? If so, could you tell me what brand they are and what you paid for them?

How about some kitchen pics?

hey Eddie, the 2 sided unit is in the master bedroom and is propane it is considered a appliance. The one pictured with a fire is a wood only unit. Both are made by lennox and the gas unit was $1,800 and the wood unit was 2,150. If you look on page 11 of this thread it shows some more pics of the fireplaces
