Alright here's what I got: about twney acres of clover, on fairly level land, that has johnson grass in various spots. I have looked at the 25 gal. spray rigs with a 10' boom for four-wheelers and that is really what I need except I want a rope wic apllication system instead of sprayer nozzles. I would rather have this so I wouldn't have to worry about windy days as much. What I would really like to do is make a set up where I can change from sprayer nozzles to the ropes for different applications as needed. I have not been able to find tha rope-wic system on these and was thinking about buying the tank and wand and building the rope-wic system that I want. Has anyone out there ever done this and where can I find my needed parts?

My spray rig has a 25 gallon tank, and with 7 heads each putting out .2 gmp or a total of 1.4 gpm, in theory I can empty it in less than 18 minutes. The spray wand puts out about .25 gallons per minute or 15 gallons per hour. A 25 gallon tank might be on the small side, depending on what you want to mount it on. I attached mine to a frame sitting on a 3Pt fork. I wired a fused switch into the tractor dash with a pigtail at the rear fender. It's nice to turn it on and off from the seat.

Some have suggested tapping into the tail lighs and using the headlight switch, but with a 10 amp pump draw, I wanted a dedicated circuit.

Can't help with the rope wic. I start spraying early in the morning since the wind picks up here around 9:30 - 10:00 am.

I'm building one with a 65 gallon tank and a PTO pump. I'm using a KK carryall for the frame. I am going to put a 10 foot regular spray boom (made of angle iron and segmented so it folds) on it.

I'm not sure of the application rates for the wick type boom but you might want a bigger tank for that much acreage. With a spray boom a 25 gallon tank would only cover a couple acres.

I have a 65 gallon with 10' booms and hand wand with a PTO pump. in very good shape- what is it worth?? I don't use it since I got a smaller one that fits the gator.

I didn't know there was a herbicide that would kill grass in clover without killing the clover. What are you going to spray?

That sounds just like what I want. Where in Kansas are you located?
