We have 4 Kubota tractors, RTV etc.. We decided to build a pond in a very low area otherwise useless. Attempted to get 3 companies to give an estimate, only 1 showed up... no estimates at all to date. Meanwhile my family and I just keep working it with what we have. By the time we get an estimate we should be about thru :ROFLMAO:

Here is a time lapse video of all 4 in our family moving and shaking with 3 tractors and an RTV moving clay from the back of the property to the front. Not the fastest way to do this but very effective. I still can't get a box blade and the dealership's inventory is so low I wonder how they stay in business.

Hubby: Grand L4060
Me: Grand L4060
Daughter: Grand L3560
Son: RTV1140 (whomever is by the clay pile fills it for him)

With that kind of equipment, I wouldn't bother to pay anyone to do it. Is there something I'm missing here?

Looks like fun though...

It's pretty challenging with things that don't show in the video. An old road bed from somewhere long ago in history. A sink hole which we think goes to a spring but not sure. I tried to fill it in after we cleaned up from the hurricane but failed miserably after dumping over 10 feet of dirt in the sink hole and it just disappeared. Now need to get all that dirt back out and not quite sure how to get it out LOL.

We aren't real sure what kind of dirt was used in the old road bed, it is white but feels like clay, very hard to dig out especially without a working box blade. Dealership just can't get them out of Atlanta or anywhere these days. No idea why the system is broken other than Covid. An excavator would be easier to deal with these issues but we are having a blast and not in a hurry so it is all good.

We just keep pumping the water out while we build.

Need some pictures from where you are digging dirt out of. Jon

Nice video. Nice lineup of machines too. I also like to be self sufficient. I have my TLB and now the RTV to haul material. Next on my list is a Kubota mini ex.

I haven't hauled any gravel with the RTV yet. How does yours handle it? If I can at least haul and dump a full bucket from my B2620 I'll be happy.

And like you I don't care if it takes longer than big machines. I enjoy playing with the toys.

We dug a Cadillac burn pit since we don't own the adjacent property and needed to protect the neighbors lots. The hole is very deep and clay piled sky high which worked to keep the fires at bay. Now that all the safety measures aren't needed, we are using the piled up clay which is ginormous. Perfect use for the clay.

Here are a couple of pics of when the pit was used as a cadillac burn pit........ including a moat :ROFLMAO: The pictures don't do it justice for just how much clay is there and how deep the hole is. It will ultimately get turned into another pond down the road.

Our L series buckets are a good bit wider than your B2620 bucket so you should be able to get a full bucket in the RTV. It drives well and and unloads really well. The RTV drives faster and makes the trips back and for to the clay pile faster than any of the tractors.

With our wider buckets, about a foot of dirt falls on the ground when loading the RTV so we try to get the bucket high in one end so we have less waste. We have tried 2 buckets full in the RTV and it handled it but barely. Granted this is wet/damp clay so VERY heavy. RTV is awesome as a mini dump truck. Tons of fun!!!

Nice video. A few hours with a small bulldozer and skilled operator could finish this very nicely.

Good to hear. Yes, if I load from the rear, my bucket will fit within the dump bed sides. But that's what I was hoping, I can load the RTV and my son can drive it up and I can follow with a bucket in tractor when we have to do washout repair on my bush road.
