How big is it?
I had a large shop in an industrial part of town, that I always wanted to show off some pics of, have since sold it and now have a small shop on my own property, which I like better this way, do miss the big one though.

The last pic is my smaller shop in the backyard, it was a 20x 30 caretakers cottage converted to a work shop.

JB.

my shop is a 30X40 and thanks for the pics!:)

That's a good size, depends on what your using it for, probably part storage part repair. Put as much shelving as you can afford and fit in the areas you don't need to bring equipment into, get as much stuff off the floor as you can, I'm a shelf nut but it makes things easy to organize.
And in the area used for repair as many work benches you can fit, you always need free bench top space to have a couple things going on at once.

Since you mentioned pouring the floor this week.
If your driving heavy stuff in there I would recommend 5" thick slab with reinforcing wire. Some might think that's overkill but IMO 4" is borderline for medium to heavy equipment traffic.

Do you have any pictures? I'd like to build something around that size in my yard, My workshop now use to be a house so no overhead doors, I built a 20x40 carport to keep the truck under and another 16x16 shed for the tractor and small equipment, all attached, but would like to have a building again.

Good Luck, JB.

Great pictures. I enjoy seeing how everyone organizes their shops and hope to get ideas. Mine is just 24x30. Not as big as I'd have wanted, but it's what I have and it does a good job for me.

Wow Eddie, That's a very impressive collection, you got a Zebra! and a spring bok (sp). I've read your profile about the big game hunting around the world, but I thought that was kinda just an ambition :)

Dude, that second pic looks like the storage room at a rental center. Man, do I envy you with all that stuff.

Great use of shelving BTW.

Here's my shop setup..... It was built by my dad when he was farming, and now I own it. The front 50'x60' is insulated and heated, the back 50'x80' is cold storage. I keep camp trailer, car trailer, snowmobiles/trailer, 2 old pickups, tractor implements, steel, wood, etc. Nice to have everything in 1 building and not have to move snow in winter to get to things. It has 3 14'x26' overhead doors. Used to store local farmers equipment in winter till I aquired too much stuff;)
One side of shop has office, 1/2 bath, tool storage room. Upstairs is more storage and my powder coating room. It's nice to have things located in one spot, and the space above work bench would be wasted space anyhow. I try to keep woodworking on oposite side of shop to keep dust to a minimum in my main working area.

It may be a bit bigger than I need, but.............you won't hear me complain:D

JJ,
That is one impressive shop you have. I can see where not having to go outside in the winter months is a very big plus. I'm sure you had to spend a few weeks getting your shop ready for the pictures. Makes my 40 x 75 look small.

Mike
