Nice project, thanks for sharing. One tip: forget those blue carlon old-work boxes. Next time try the Pass&Seymor grey colored ones, they're way easier to work with. You said its an old house but it drywalled. In my neck of the woods old houses have plaster, some with metal lath, your lucky.

That’s what I was trying to accomplish, to match what was there, and to make the room look larger. The depth of the desk is only 21” which would never work with the old CRT monitors, but works fine with the flat screen monitors.

Did anyone notice I have TBN on one of the monitors in the pictures?

If no one noticed the flaw than maybe I should just shut-up about it. But it’s just one of those things when you build something, you know the flaws, and they bug you, and you think everyone notices and maybe no one does.
