Those quickbite couplers are slick, although I wonder how well the hold up to larger loads.

Trailer in question is a horse trailer with plenty of tongue weight so no kicking it around if I'm not within 1". Pulling forward makes sense but with the hills here I try to make sure I've got a secure ball before I unblock the wheels and raise the jack.

So just raise the jack only a few inches. If it does fall it can be picked back up with the jack to height
