Bullet proof BX

Has anyone here put a detachable skid plate under their BX yet. I'm going to build one for mine that will use the MMM links to attach it and provide complete under carraige protection from the front steering cylinder to the rear end. This should really work good when I want to bushhog down some nasty stuff and working with the FEL. I plan on using the mower links so I can just drop the skid pan and attaach the MMM when I need to mow. If anyone has done this and has pictures please post em. I just have the idea now and was wondering if anyone had done this. Cool idea huh?

good idea...i have an old skidplate from an old 4wd still in the garage....will look into that this weekend.
some diamond plate could work nice.

and my wife wants to know why i save everything......ha ha

AFTER BRUSH CUTTING WITH MY M-40 CUTTER, IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE BX2200 NEEDED UNDER BODY PROTECTION.
AS I POSTED PREVIOUSLY, I USED THE MOWER FRAME MOUNTS AS THE ATTACHMENT POINTS, USING 1/2" REBAR FOR THE MOUNTING LOOPS.
ONE FOR THE FRONT AND TWO FOR THE REAR.
THE SKID PLATE ITSELF IS 3/16" STEEL PLATE.

I ALSO ADDED A HINGED PLATE, TO THE REAR OF THE SKID PLATE, TO PROTECT THE REAR AXLE, LINKAGES, AND TRANSMISSION FILTER. I USED A PIECE OF CHAIN AND TURNBUCKLE TO FASTEN IT TO A FRAME HOLE NEAR THE REAR PTO.
I LAID OUT THE DESIGN USING A CARDBOARD TEMPLET, WOOD BLOCKS AND 1/2" COPPER PIPE.
THE CUTTING & WELDING TOOK ABOUT 2 HRS. I ALSO PRIMERED AND PAINTED IT ORANGE TO MATCH THE TRACTOR.
I AM STILL TRYING TO BORROW A DIGITAL CAMERA TO SHARE PICTURES OF MY FABRICATIONS WITH THIS GROUP.

WHILE "BULLET PROOF" MIGHT BE HARD TO OBTAIN, THIS WILL CERTAINLY MAKE YOUR BX "BRUSH RESISTANT".

Thanks Walt, I'll be looking forward to seeing the pictures. I was disking some food plots for deer a few weeks ago and I heard a horrible noise from under the floorboard. My first thought was I had fried the hyd. pump. Upon inspection I found a reed cane had gotten up into the cooling fan for the pump. Boy was I relieved, but that was the first time I realized how unprotected the under carriage is. I'm used to operating much larger tractors and they are protected pretty well............My BX is gonna be when I get done with it. I assume you used such heavy plate because that is what you had? I'm thinking about using 1/8".
