James which brings to mind : Have you checked your Kioti's lift capacty and if so is/was the adjustment simular to these Bota's ? Just wondered.

I have not checked.. I can tell you it is more than the L3400 had by quite a bit, but I have not measured it.. I assume the adjustments would be similar to the Kubota, but haven't checked it out. Even though the tractor is 1066 lbs heavier in itself, and the amount of liquid ballast is quite a bit more, probably at least 300 lbs due to the larger tires, I am still using the 750 lb rear weight, which seemed about right for the Kubota, but could be a little heavier for the Kioti. (needs another 350 lbs) The loader is strong, but I have no measurement to really know. What I don't understand is the DK40's with their KL401 monster loader that will lift 2760 lbs on a tractor that is only 4 inches longer, and has just a little beefier front axle and larger tires, and weight just a little bit more but how are guys getting away with not ballasting the heck out of those things, Looks like to me that loader would get you in trouble real quick without proper ballast. because the tractor is just not that much bigger than mine. Yet I see photo's of guys running them with no or little rear ballast.. yikes! Maybe they are just the delivery pictures.. I hope so.

Either they are just delivery pics, or they arent even getting half of their rated capacity in the FEL.

Those things must take a HUGE amount of ballast to even be efficient. Thats why I mention SOO many times that dont go by the specs alone when shopping. Because heck, my L3400 could have a 5000lb loader but I dont know of any way to put it to any good use at all?? I have loaded rears and an 1100lb bushhog. While the bushhog does the job lifting, if I lift and curl, it can make the rear really light. And thats 1100lbs hanging WAY back in the form of a 6' hog. So I dont think a stronger loader would be of any benefit at all to me. I wonder how much the hoe weighs for a 3400??

Well I have seen pictures of Island Tractors picking up some really big rocks with his grapple. I think the DK40's will actually pick up 2760 lbs I am just hoping that new guys realize what a tiger by the tail they have up front and ballast accordingly. I think the hoe for a L3400 like a bh77 weighs about 1250 don't they?
