Burning bar?

Anyone know where I can price a burning bar setup? Been tortching alot of equiptment lately and need to bring costs down.

Are you talking about Exothermic Cutting Systems. I have one of those sets, and purchased some rods but never did set one off. The rods are not cheap.

I believe most any welding shop would have those rods and holders.

that is it jj,,, wonder how manny of yhose rods it would take to cut up a catapillar 60 scraper? next project.

The compact style holders like this are a little more comfortable to use..

Do you have a large enough oxygen supply to run burning bars? A .540 X 10' 6" burning bar will burn for 4 1/2 minutes and consume 20 cubic feet of oxygen per minute at 90 psi.
A single T oxygen tank holds roughly 335 cubic feet of oxygen and would be empty after the 4th bar..
