Hi Creekbend,
Wood harvesting and cutting was born in me, its been a life long adventure or should i say Job? We use to cut 500 face cord a year.
Cutting and splitting is the easy part. I dont like hauling or stacking, that was dad's part. He liked to do both, guess thats why we worked so well together. I drag my logs from the woods and pile them in about 10-20 cord piles then fish them out with the loader and cut them when the mood hits. First picture is of logs from 2010. Second picture i finished just before it snowed this month. The last picture is last years woodshed in the process of being filled i believe sometime in november 2010.I was really behind last year.
Haven't got my Uncle's logs out yet but the years not over yet, but the woodsheds are full. Happy Heating . . . John

We were very close. Worked in the garage together, hunted together, rode motorcyle together. I really miss my dad. We built a 29x72 garage together and sometimes when go to his part of the garage to get something I have not used since he has died I think to myself he was the last one to organize this. Not knowing it would be the last time he would see it. Things like boxes of sockets or an angle grinder is what I am referring to. I sure do miss the company when I am in the woods cutting.

My sincere condolences in regards to your Father. My prayers go out to both you and your wife. I know it must be extremely hard at times. My Father is presently in the early stages, and my tears sometimes begin to flow when I talk to him. Please remain strong and always remember the good times and not the difficult times. Once again, you both will remain in my prayers.
