I will burn it in a heartbeat. I use old diesel scrounged out of junk trucks on a regular basis. I burn motor oil in fuel. If I think it will burn when mixed with some fresh fuel it gets used up around here. So what if it has sludge, leave the sludge in the gas can.

I've run kerosene in my diesel in my older Kubota tractor without issue. It's common to mix kerosene with diesel in very cold weather. I'd mix something like a pint per gallon or so till it's used up. Kerosene, if well sealed, will last a VERY long time. Decades. If it's clear and smells good, run it in the tractor

I found my heater in the barn, it was full of kerosene. I tried it just for kicks and it lit right up and burned like new fuel. I had it stashed away 15 years like that.
