Not familiar with your stove, but I use kerosene lamps and have noticed that dyed kerosene will clog wicks and form little crusty balls on the wick ends which won't burn and need to be trimmed off. Clear kerosene will not do this. Could it be the dye itself that causes the extra build-up you're experiencing?
