Burning Red Off Road Diesel in Stove=carbon

Not familiar with your stove, but I use kerosene lamps and have noticed that dyed kerosene will clog wicks and form little crusty balls on the wick ends which won't burn and need to be trimmed off. Clear kerosene will not do this. Could it be the dye itself that causes the extra build-up you're experiencing?

Was it off road diesel or home heating oil? If it was off road diesel it could have been a winter blend with kerosene. If it was HHO it may not burn as hot as a winter blend diesel and will leave more soot behind.

From Southern States Co-op here in NW VA, dyed off road diesel 15ppm ULSD.

I think we're getting somewhere with the balls of stuff on the kero lamps, sounds similar. Good to know.

It burned really clean with normal diesel last couple years, so much so that there was basicly nothing to clean out as in wow, spotless!
