Bush Hog 286 with slip clutch...how to get the pivot bolt out

/ Bush Hog 286 with slip clutch...how to get the pivot bolt out #11
Hello all,
Apologies in advance for being a little wordy, not being an equipment mechanic per se, I and my pivot bolt are both stuck.
I first found this subject on TBN in the 2016 JRobyn thread, which was informative, but after registering here found this thread more to the point of a jammed Pivot Assy. (taper bolt).

It would be interesting to know how the OP Igshaffer made out since I'm having the same problem with a well-used Bush Hog 2615L Flex Wing center driveshaft torque limiter.
I found that this limiter, or slip clutch, was falling apart just as my son was setting out for another 4 hour session on the pastures. I ordered a new Lining Kit and Inner Plate (which was warped), as well as new bolts and nuts because the edge of the (Brake Lining) hub's disk had literally chewed up and spit some of them out.

So, I needed to get this Brake Lining hub off of the center gearbox shaft.
I had already used PB Blaster and tapped lightly (sort of), then more PBB and moderate pounding using an old disc harrow shaft and a 3 lb. dead-blow mallet.

After heating "hotter than you would want to touch" with a propane torch yesterday, when fumes from the PBB (assuming) could be seen exiting the hub along the shaft, I kicked it up a notch. Holding a cat.1 draw bar in one hand, rested one end of it on the thread end of the bolt, I whacked it numerous times with an 8 lb. sledge hammer in my other hand. No luck.

I left it until today figuring any expansion & contraction that might serve to break it loose would have subsided.
With the requisite amount of concern, and maybe a little more, about damaging the gearbox components, I used the same method of draw bar & sledge hammer with a similar amount of concern about damaging myself.

I see no evidence whatsoever that this pivot bolt has moved at all.
Wondering if RickB or other experts here can advise. Could it be that the jam is not confined to the pivot bolt, but that the splines are jammed? This does sometimes happen for example at the PTO shaft when an implement's driveshaft has been over-torqued, and a certain amount of reverse torque has to be applied to loosen. Frankly, I don't see how this can be overcome in this case, if this is the case. Any ideas?
Thanks very much. MSJ

I ended up taking this to a local equipment mechanic's shop a few weeks ago now. I had told him of my trouble and the methods I had used - unsuccessfully.
He said that someone must have over-torqued the nut down on the taper bolt (Bush Hog calls it a pivot assembly) and that you are supposed to just snug up the lock nut, not crank down on it.

He assured me he would get it out, but that he might destroy the bolt in the process. I understood that as a possibility of course, but since I was unaware of the problem when the other parts were ordered, that would mean more parts and shipping costs.
I didn't hear anything until a week later when I finally dropped in to check the status. He told me he had it out an hour after I left the batwing with him!

All he would say is that he used a brass hammer.
Now I know he did more than just whack it with a brass hammer. Exactly what, I don't know. I do know he put a torch to it, because the NyLok nut was no longer a lock nut. (I had the nut off when I heated the bolt.)

The good news is he thankfully had not destroyed the bolt. And he charged me ten bucks. And I found a replacement nut at the hardware store. Cool.
