Bush Hog and box blade size for L3400

6' BB is a good match IMO.

But I perfer the 5' cutter on the back as opposed to the 6' cutter. The 6' sticking back that far is like the tail wagging the dog as it is called. Fron ballast is almost a must, either in the form of the FEL or weights.

A 5' cutter allows me to comfortabally take the FEL off for increased manuverability and visibility.

But either will cut at the same rate of acres per hour. Speed is determined by PTO HP and NOT size of the cutter. A 6 footer will allow you to take a bigger path, but you have to go at a slower ground speed. A 5' cutter allows faster ground speed. But it all works out to the same Acres per hour based on PTO HP.
