Though one can adapt a cat 2 to a cat 1 tractor I would think the hog might be able to do damage to the tractor more likely that tractor doing damage to hog, (slip-clutch burn out might be exception). So i'd be careful to try to control the hog's use via the tractor's capabilities rather than letting the hog whip the tractor's butt. Grease everything, especially your PTO shaft joints and shaft to shaft coupling.
I could be wrong about this, but I don't think so. If I am, people will likely chime in....

Just an update. Thanks for all the comments. I did not think I was going to get the two halves together so I was going to take the rear half off. That was "welded" together but ultimately I got the shafts to engage. The shaft was the proper length, greased and it works well. I did not loosen the slip clutch but I will soon, just did light mowing. Will do the slip before heavy mowing. The bush hog is heavier than my prior units, it came off a 50 horse tractor but mine is similar at 45. The six foot matches my tread size better. It was a township mowing tractor, they would have sold me the tractor also but I cannot use a 2 wheel drive in my hilly and boggy conditions.
I just overworked my old units cutting 2 inch saplings etc. This should work better even though it is older.

Loosened the bolts so the slip clutch could slip and then retightened. Added new gear oil. This unit is a beast compared to some of my prior units. Glad I have it for the numerous and larger saplings I have to cut. Worked well on them today.
