Does anyone have any experience with a Bush Hog RDTH60 mower?

Have you check out the Woods new BrushBull rotary cutter, for they have standard,medium,heavy-duty cutters, also the Woods RD seris finish mower.

Don't no what the price tag would be,but they are very well built.

I have used a Bushhog RDTH72 the past 18 months to cut about 8 acres. About 3/4 of the 8 acres is pretty level, with rest somewhat rolling. No problems with scalping the sod. Mechanically, no problems at all. Good unit in my opinion.

If you get a chance you might want to look at some of the links on here for First Choice products. I've not used their finish mowers, but others on here speak highly of them. I finally got to look at the units last week and was very impressed, heavy duty construction and a very, very reasoanble price.

Even with no complaints on my Bushhog unit, I probably would have gone with the FC unit if I had it to do over again......AND you can also get them in the color of your tractor!

I believe that's the model I have. 60" rear dis.
What would you like to know? If you want me to say I am totally happy with it, the answer would be no. The blades needed sharpened to cut the weeds in my yard when it was brand new and it still misses one now and then. The shop says it's rotating at the right speed and I paid attention to be sure it's not the weeds that I've run over with a tire. The weeds are the kind that get the little blue flowers on the single stem about a foot high. Of course they grow 5 times faster than the grass and usually the ones that don't get cut have about 2/3 of the stem remaining. Not really anything that shouldn't mow like grass. As far as the rear dis., I don't like the way it leaves the grass in clumps, maybe if I remove every other chain on the guard it would be able to throw some of the grass out and not have this problem.

Thanks, Fred. I am still torn between the Bush Hog and looking into the First Choice. However, I do not know of a dealer in my area. Need to look, touch and feel.

tld,
Just wanted to say that I never had any problems like I mentioned with my loaner BH RFM. It was a side-dis. and about a year old. Don't know if I have a bad one or they changed something like blade rotation speed or something.
Good luck.

I have a 72 RDTH and it works great. I have both flat and hilly land and the cut is consistent and level. Having said that, I think that any of the top tier implement companies will give you a good product. Stick with Bush Hog, First Choice, Woods, Frontier, Land Pride, etc. etc. and you will be okay.

As has often been said here on TBN. First Choice gives you Bush hog, Landpride or Woods quality at or near King Kutter Prices. And I for one appreciate their quality over quanity approach.
