bush hog m2561
Howdy,
Help!! I've got a 2005 (roughly) bush hog m2561 zero turn riding mower. Been doing GREAT, but today starts right up, but when I adjust choke down to 'run' mode, sputters off. Pull choke back up, revs up, stays fairly constant, but not enough to cut grass. I've made sure fuel cut-off set correctly, it has fresh gas, oil ok, the usual suspects ok. Any ideas?? Thanks!!

I'm not a mechanic but it appears to be a fuel issue...
Does it have a fuel filter?
Check for a kinked fuel like also...
Sound like it may be getting vapor locked...
See if it will run without the fuel cap on...

We have small Bushog mower and sounds to me ethanol has been being run in it and carb needs cleaning. Sea Foam did not take care of it for me, had to be mechanically cleaned.

When you have to run the choke usually this means you have a restriction in the main jet.
This could be corrosion, caused by water in gas.
Dirt or sediment partially plugging jet.

Drop the carb bowl and you should be able to see the problem. Cleaning out the bowl and jet with carb cleaner is usually all thats required. If the main is corroded up you may have to unscrew it and manually clean it.

If water is in gas you will want to drain the tank and start with fresh. Make sure you have an inline filter.
