Bush Hog mod question

My "helper" and I laid on two coats of red over primer yesterday. Today I made a weather proof cover for the access hole.


I also gilded the lilly a tad.


Just have to reassemble it, put on the safety stickers and we're good to go. I'm going back to welding class next month and I want to fabricate a chain guard for the front. I"m also thinking about a slip clutch as an upgrade since I'll be using it in the woods a lot.

All back together - took it for a ride around the field to get the feel of it. It rides pretty nice, but found I have to raise it going down the hill. Here it is in front of some olde tyme equipment. I have a slip clutch coming tuesday and will try it out my next day off. Tell you what those old implements still work!! I might even tow the sickle mower behind the tractor sometime.

Very nice restoration on everything. I don't have the patience to do that meticulous of a job myself.
Regarding the stump jumper on the bush hog, I don't think I have ever seen one that was not round. I think the football shaped one would be unique.
I am sure someone will pipe up though and say that they have seen lots of them shaped like that .

I'm sure when they jump a stump the driver knows it!
