To anyone who owns a brush brute I would really like to get a couple of measurements off of it.

1. how long the v's are to the box steel
2. how long from the tip of the v to the base of the v--square measurement off the box steel
3. how wide is the v at the widest part
4. how thick is the steel on the v
5. how large is the box steel used
6. at the narrowest part of the v does it come to a point or
is it drilled.

I have used the brush brute on my 4700 to clear heavy brush and trees up to 4" . It works great! Rips them out by the roots !!! I paid about $1,700 last year here in Little League, PA. I added the Quicktach brackets for less than $200.00.
I prefer the brush brute to the MX6 cutter. I have tried both. The brush brute is easier, faster and there is less chance of damage to the tractor.

Mark, I built a three point version about a month ago. I've been tweaking on it. Works VERY well on stuff down to about 1/2-1/4 on an inch in size. Nuthin fancy just out of scrap steel to see how well it would actually work. I'm more than pleased with it so far. But on the next revamp it should do even better.

I used the measurements off of this thead to go as a base design. <font color=blue>TREEGETTER</font color=blue>

I made it 48 inches wide. The only problem or feature that really could use improvement is, when doing alot of small stuff it clogs up and without out much downpressure from the three point I have to get off the tractor to clean out the teeth. The next one I build will have a self cleaning feature added into the design. That is where a bucket design would be better. Having enough down pressure to clean it without getting off the tractor.

I've been thinking about a bucket design that could hook onto the bucket without removing the bucket. Sort of like a bolt on toothbar but a foot or so below the bucket so you could see what your working on.

Gordon - Thanks for the info. When you get a front end loader one perfected, let me know. I'd sure like one (I'd work out a quick-attach mount for it myself), but I'm not interested enough to pay $2,000 for it...

Tony - Thanks for the info. How wide is your model? That sounds awfully expensive, for what it is. How much does it weigh? For that kind of money, do you think you're paying for construction, materials, a patented design, or what? Do you have a local dealer who carries them, or did you order it direct? Thanks again...

My error, the mind's going. I just looked up the invoice for the BB76, (76 inches wide), list was $1,595.00. I paid $1,200.00.
I had my dealer make up the Quicktatch brackets for $277.00 using the JD Bucket parts. (for my convience only).
I have no idea about the weight. I will try to find out about the weight.
I bought it through my local JD dealer here in PA.
I had designed and built a brush bar, (like a tooth bar), for my JD755. It worked well, but cost about $800.00 to have custom made by a local shop.
I bought the Brush Brute for my 4700 because it is a tested design and comes highly recommended by long time users in Canada. I hope this helps.
