I'm buying one right now. Planning to use it on an older Kubota B2150 tractor. The RD5 looks stronger and heavier duty to me than the BH5 or the Squealer. I'm not planning to do heavy brush clearing but rather pasture clipping and whatever brush I happen to encounter. You can download the manual from the Bush Hog website. It has a 50 hp rated gearbox and weighs around 522 lbs. I like the Kodiak 5 ft rotary mower (called medium duty, looks very heavy to me) but it is around $400US more expensive and can't be that much better. I have had excellent support out of Bush Hog ( had a larger 7ft model 297 with a cracked gearbox and they backed it 100%. Very straightforward to work with. Open and cooperative.) I'm buying the RD5.
Your L3430 has more power and is a lot heavier than my B2150. Your 3430 should handle the 5ft hog really well under all kinds of conditions. I realize my B2150 is at the low end of power and weight needed to handle the RD5.
