Rotary Cutter Bush Hog RDTH60

I purchased a used RDTH60 in February, and until last week all was well. Then one of the plastic idler pulleys started screaming. It doe not turn smoothly by hand and wobbles. So I was able to finish mowing, and when I got off the tractor at one point, I noticed one of the wheels on the mower was tilted to the side. Then after raising the mower, I noticed the bushings were bad on three of the wheels.

This mower is only supposed to be a couple of years old, and was used in a pecan orchard. It does not look old or abused, so I have no reason to doubt it being a couple of years old. Does this stuff sound pretty normal for this mower already? The pulley is not greasable, so nothing could be done there, but what about the wheel bushings? How often do they go out? I have been greasing the unit regularly, but I don't know how it was taken care of before.

I have used a RDTH72 and a RDTH60 for the past couple years and no this is not my experience by a long shot. I would say the one you have has been ridden hard and put up wet. These things are built like a tank and you really have to work at it to wear one out.

Everything on it looks really nice still. No real scratches or anything. Maybe they just did not grease the wheels the way they should have. I did not notice that the wheels have zerk fittings right away, so maybe the original owner never noticed it. The cutting blade spindles spin freely, so I guess they were getting greased. The oil in the gearbox looks good even after using it this year. So maybe it was a fluke.
