Medium duty 5 ft bush hog?

If you buy a rotary cutter with an Omni gearbox, the gearbox will come with a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty.

Only 5? I believe if you buy a Woods med. duty cutter, the gearbox has a 10 year warr..

True, but very expensive.
I’m not against Woods at all. They make quality implements. But they are overpriced compared to other manufacturers.

Im seriously considering a J-Bar 60" premium, at $1850; or a BH215 at $2500.

The specs on the JBar are good, 3" cut capacity, 7 ga, 40 hp gear box. Price is good. My hesitation is, the standard duty JBar doesn't have the best reviews.
Bush Hog all day long. You will not regret.

Buy once cry once! Woods rotary cutters have been the best cutters I've owned.

I switched from Bush Hog because of problems, so you could say, I did regret it.

I am a long distance truck driver, and see a lot of brush hogs out mowing the highway right of ways ... Majority are Bush Hog brand, then Frontier (JD) ...

Non update recently, nothing at the auction impressed me enough to try to figure out their new verification, which i didnt have to do last auction. There was a landpride 1660? 1260? Finish mower, nearly new or maybe new that went for $180, that i likely wood have bid upto $200-240, but didnt need.

Just messaged a local, independent, small, rental company selling a MF1840E, BH215, 5 ft BB, and 7000# 20 ft trailer for $23k. Not interested in the tractor, trailer, or Box blade; but i did ask if he was willing to separate the Bushhog, and what he wanted for it

And that fast, got a message that he won't separate. Understandable, as im pretty sure hes still renting the tractor out until it sells, and ill bet 95% of the time, its with the bushhog ad the primary or only attachment. (no loader on his rental machine)

I struck out at the auction last week. They had a handful of bushhogs, of various makes, but not screaming deals for the condition. Sent a message last night on another one, an Bushhog Sq600, but no response. He's asking too much, so I offered $250 cash, and a 300 blackout AR. Called local dealer today, he sells Ironcraft, looking for a 1505; he said he has an Ironcraft 305, for $2799, with slip clutch.

So, funny, but related to the bushhog search... Mom and her husband where in a wreck Friday morning, likely totaling his 2013 Toyota Highlander, damage on drivers side doors (still open), passngwr side paint, both front fenders, and repaint. Moms husband called and said "if they are gonna offer me $5k, ill just tell them to take salvage value out, let me keep it, and ill give it to your son". So, if that all goes through, the least I can do is do some much needed bushhog for them. Kinda leaning towards just driving the 1h30m and getting the Bh215 for $2500 new.

On that Ironcraft, I found it online, falls squarely in medium duty, and possibly a discontinued model? He said hes had it for atleast a year, they ordered for a guy, who changed his mind to a 72". So, having sat atleast a year, maybe 2, there might be some negotiation available.
