I have an old rotary cutter 5 footer, I think the brand is International, rusted out, bent up, not worth a much, and the splines are going bad on the blade holder. The splines on the gear box shaft seem to be ok. I'm calling the blade holder the part/ or medal bar that the stump jumper mounts to. I've taken it all apart and its a 12 spline tapered shaft looks to be 1 1/2" diam. My question is are these parts fairly univeral from one cutter to another, in the 5' class. I have a friend that going to give me his old cutter for parts and I was going to patch it up. I really hate to lose this old cutter being that I can back over anything and not worry about tearing things up. I use my new cutter for grass jobs only. Let me know yall think.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Well I get to answer my own post, from my experience over the weekend, the blade holders are universal. 12 spline tapered. Got everything back together and back to mowing. My wife thinks I'm crazy that I have a brand new 2009 Woods mower and I will work all day to get my 1970 - something mower fixed so I can start mowing.
