(SQ84T) the blade tip speed is 11,500 fpm where as the SQ720 blade tip speed is 14,963. I wonder what makes the blade speed so much different?
The 84T has 2 sets of blades?? If that's right, then each set of blades will be about 42" diameter, tip to tip. The 720 single spindle set-up will be about 72" diameter. If the 84T gearbox doesn't turn the blades at a significantly higher rpm, the larger diameter model will have the higher tip speed.
If my numbers are right, the 84T is turning about 30% more rpm than the 720. The smaller blade diameter, however, translates into slower tip speed, despite the higher rpm.
Just a guess.
