I know this isn't a forum for jokes, but with all the discussion on rotary cutters or bushhogs by other names I found this pretty funny and appropriate.
If I have overstepped the boundaries of forum decorum I apologize in advance.

The telephone people send crews to other states in times of crisis to help restore services, just like the Power Company does.
A lineman from Michigan was working here in Alabama, when he was sent to repair a pedestal which had been run over by the County’s ‘Bush Hog’.
Upon getting to the site, he called in to the office on the radio and said he could probably get the wires put back together, and get a new pedestal installed, but that he was not getting out of the truck until they got a deputy or some other backup to the scene. “I don’t know what a bush hog is, and I don’t see one around anywhere, but after seeing what it did to that pedestal, I ain’t getting out of the truck till you get someone here to watch my back!”

That's good! We have a few trunk lines around the county that were attacked by a bush hog. Unfortunately I've heard that Verizon splices the cable and then covers it with a garbage bag.

Phone service around here can be very iffy, especially when it rains.

Surely you could have found another State to pick on, we usually use Ohio! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

LOL--I knew someone was gonna say that.

No, it was sneaking along the road, damaging and destroying a whole mess of fences and trees. A lot of people around here are a tad displeased with that operation.

/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Just checking...now that I look at your profile I can see that youd have a bear following instead of a pig. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That reminds me of the bush hog that was following my friend's tractor around for a couple of hours last spring -- the one that ate his wife's lilacs right down to the ground. She told him to go out and shoot the b* and not to come back until it was killed dead. Not sure he had supper that night...

I showed my wife where I mow and told her that *anything* that lies in my path is fair game. So now she either prunes or ties back all of her plants/flowers/pretty weeds... or she doesn't complain when they disappear!
