Why would a dealer push bushog loaders vs a Mahindra loader on Mahindra tractors 00 series?

Bush Hog was a manufacturer of some of Mahindras loaders for a while. They were orginally Great Bend Loaders. After Bush Hog bought GB they moved the manufacture of the loaders from Kansas to Tennessee. Some of these loaders were also made at KMW in Kansas. The ML230, ML260, and ML264 were all made by both companies. There C series & ML245 were also made by Bush Hog. Bush Hog is no longer making the loaders for Mahindra, but Allied/Buhler is making the ones that Bush hog used to. The exception may be the ML264. I don't believe that Allied is making this one. It has been replaced by the ML265 being built by KMW. It is a completely new mid-mount design that fits the same tractors as the old ML264.

Now THAT was the long story leading to another question.... was the loader he was pushing a Bush Hog loader or a Mahindra Loader made by bush Hog? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

rback33,

I have a Great Bend GB-20 loader on my Yanmar that I think was sold new with it 20 years ago.

I've tried emailing Great Bend but got a 'mailbox full' reply both times. I wonder if GB still exists as a marketing organization after the sale of their name to Bush Hog. I wanted to obtain the specifications.

Do you (or anyone) know the specifications of this GB-20 loader? It is heavy, it adds about 1200 lbs to my 1800 lb tractor. The bucket is 60" and the power is sufficient to lift the back of the tractor, with loaded tires and mower attached, before the bypass kicks in.

Any comments?

It was a bush hog loader, said it was cheaper than the mahindra equivalent.

Thanks for the informative post

California,
GB does still exist, but only as a Division of Bush Hog. If you find the GB website, it says that at the bottom.

Joshej,
*lol* of course it was cheaper. It was sold direct to the dealer. One less mouth to feed there. Should be a good loader, but one thing to remember, and I know it has been touched on here before, but the Mahindra loader was designed for that tractor in particular. You shouldn't have to worry about axle loading and things like that. Several times I have heard stories of tractors breaking becuase the loader stressed it too much, because it was too heavy for the tractor. In these instances, I don't think the manufacturer warrants the tractor. Dealers, chime in here because I could be wrong here. At any rate, either loader will be a good loader. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
