In anticipation of my upcoming topic on tractor limericks, I hereby give a neutral, unbiased, objective and accurate summary of the group consensus on the candidates so far:

The former Senator Gore
Was merely a political bore,
But with new earth-tone suits
And phony tractoring roots,
He's now a political *****.

The appropriate response is a pained groan.

Glenn ,no way i can take any credit for that.My daugther sent it to me from school. She also found it very sad.I hope everyone enjoys it for what it is, didn't want to ruffle any feathers but alot of truth rings through, thats the sad part. I found that i liked the VP'S better also.

All of us folks that enjoy our tractorsmust remember Al would like to see the internal combustion engine eliminated. I guess MarkCh had better get started on that fuel cell retrofit.....

No need, Jeff - Al's invented it already. If he's elected, he's going to make sure a new "earth care" plan is passed. Everybody gets a tractor of his choice (complete with the fuel cell power he invented), a copy of his new farming "how to" book, and a connection to "his" Internet, so we can get up-to-date info from his new web sites. (Sorry, but Tractorbynet will be done away with - it has too many Bush proponents on it.)

No, I can't stand it. It's all a lie. I made it all up. I must've caught PLS (Pathological Liar's Syndrome) during the 15-seconds I saw of him during the debate before I had to run to the bathroom to vomit.

Al Gore may be as dumb as some have said, but someone in the Dem party has the American public figured correctly.
We are a Nation of single issues. The dems try to reach as many groups as possible, telling them exactly what they want to hear. To this end they are masters at using polls and focus groups.
We live off catch phrases and sound bytes. Here they get some help from the media. Anyone else notice how both Gore and Lieberman often used the phrase "personal attacks" and with a disgusted look on their face, even though no one was attacking them. How could one not notice the clip of Bush stumbling over the word subliminal, since it's been shown over and over.
All this started back with Clinton and Carvel, and they have a few other little tricks.
If Bush and the GOPs don't get with the program, I'm afraid we are going to be stuck with Al for the next four years.

Isn't it ironic that Cheney, who makes about 5 million dollars a year in the private sector, did it under the current Democratic leadership!

Don't get me wrong, I am thoroughly disgusted with the actions of the President and equally dissappointed with lies/misrepresentations by our V.P. But look at our economy...if it were so bad, would all of these people on our forum be posting their purchases of new tractors?

Anyone who wants a job can get one, it may not be the one they want, but they can get one.

Is there any truth to the following that I heard about Georgie Bush? He was a drunk until about age 40? He borrowed $600,000 to buy some land and then sold it to the city or government for 3 million? Daddy bought him a sports team? What about the problems posted in Texas under his reign?

I'm with Thomas, I sure wish that McCain was still running!

It's really hard when you look at either party and there's not a one size fits all. Like Democrats are generally better for education, yet they believe in allowing mothers to choose to murder their babies!

Remember, if we are to remain civil to one another we shouldn't talk about religion or politics! /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

This country was founded by people who risked their lives, families and fortunes for one overriding reason: to live in a nation where they could practice and freely discuss religion and politics.

This thread is already the most viewed and replied-to topic in the Off Topic forum, and I am impressed how we all have managed to express strong views while remaining eminently civil, respectful and humorous.
