BushHog vs Kubota FEL for L2800

Howdy, the local dealer is selling BushHog brand front end loaders with their L2800's (60" loaders).

Are BushHog brands better, worse, or basically the same as the Kubota brand FEL's?

My friend I must give my opinion up front. It all depends on who you talk to. I have a Kubato 853 and I love it. I know a dealer who sells bush hog loaders. I don't hear any kick. I wonder about the price comparison.......teddy

the dealer told me that the Kubota FEL is $400 more than the BushHog loader.

Hmm, according to this thread, a guy who got the M246 (which is what they want to put on mine) had trouble with the BushHog version feeling like it was always full with a load.

Looks like I'm sold on going with the Kubota version.

Ok, I called the dealer back and told them that the price that they quoted for the FEL ($3,800) was the LA463 price and not the M246 price.

I said that I found the M246 at other dealers for ~ $3,400, and that I wanted the Kubota LA463 for the appropriate price.

He said, well, we actually have an LA463 in stock and don't have the M246's in stock, so it'll work out better anyway. Oh, and by the way, how bout we knock $200 off the price of the loader.

So now I'm happy, I have the L2800 with the LA463 loader for a good price.

The only problem i can recall about bushhog loaders in the valve on the loader leaking ....it has weak seals

We have had a BH M246 FEL for about 2 1/2 years without any issues. When we purchased our L3130 the dealer had the M246 in stock so we took it. He said we could change it out for a Kubota brand, I didn't see the need. I have worked the loader hard, we had over 60 pine trees cut down and used it to move everything to the burn pile. I'm happy with it.
