After watching the value of a few too many bush hogs drop off the map, I now replace them every 2 or 3 years. I do commercial bush hogging. We pile up the hours on them. Last year, one tractor ran almost 1400 hours with a 7' cutter on it. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I've used Schulte, Bush Hog, Alamo (Rhino), and a host of others. The last few years, I've been using Woods. (Either BB840 or BB 8400) They are well designed, well made, and priced competitively. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
For my part, the biggest difference between cheaper makes and the "good stuff" is the better ones run smoother at full song. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I've also used a good number of Bush Hog brand equipment. They run smooth, and don't fall apart. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Another thing to watch for is that most brands now make a light duty, medium duty, and heavy duty. The step up between medium and heavy is a bigger jump than from light to medium. (weight-wise, as well as quality wise) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The heavy duty models are just that HEAVY!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Another PLUS for Woods is the fact that they're sold by more dealers than most other brands. That gives you a MUCH better chance of finding parts when you finally do need them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
