Re: Bushy\'s 110

Joe,
Glad to hear all is well with your beast.I've got about 80hrs on mine now and she's runnin' like a top.As far as problems go,nothing major,a couple little things, like a bad hose fitting for the aux. hydraulics on the loader, which the dealer promptly took care of,and there was excessive(to me anyway) play on the main mount of the loader towers between the pins and the arms, and also on the hoe main pin,the dealer sent me various size shims that I installed and it tightened everything up nicely. One thing I did do for my own comfort though, was I removed the loader lever lock handel and put a blank plate over the opening after I removed it to keep dust out of loader lever linkage,I did this because my knee kept hitting it and causing it to lock the loader handel and also because I can't remember the last time I wanted to lock the loader handel for any reason on any machine. As far as taking the hoe off you should go for it,it is one of the simplest hoe removeals ever and it is all done from the seat, real slick! Also I got some information on cabs,Laurin cabs is making a hard cab that will be available in October, but it's gonna be real pricey $6000 plus another $2000 for AC,bit there is another company that is currently offering a soft cab for around $450 or so,not the prettiest thing but it looks like it would get the job done and it doesn't cost $6000,my salesman is getting me more info on the soft cab.Glad to hear all is well, happy diggin'!

Re: Bushy\'s 110

How about this one....... By the way I've got about 90 hours on the 110 how. Lately, I 've been digging post holes for fencing. It works well. I would consider that little digging. The only trouble I've had lately is the plastic latch on the glove box came a part I fix that myself, though the wind opened the box and my log got wet. I was not too happy about that.

I recieved a request to do a product survey from JD. Alot of the questions have to do with dealer service. Some time ago the dealer asked me not to throw them under the wagon when this survey came.

I don't think I'm comfortable doing a survey, though I will write the factory repersenative with some, more to the point concerns. I think I'll start with, that I feel I paid too much for the machine, since seeing that others were receiving better pricing, with more on the machine. My reference here is that I've called other dealers for pricing as well as read post here on tractorbynet.com.

One of the other concerns I have is the excessive play in the swing function of the hoe. That is the most bothersome characteristic in any hoe. Bushy

Re: Bushy\'s 110

Well the dealer found a snowblower that would work on the 110. It's an Erkine 72" with a 12' shute. They had one at the shop ordered for a housing authority to be mounted on a skid steer. Looks like a well design piece of equipment. The price is $4,700. installed. Installed meaning there's an electrical switch for the tractor. It has the quick attach plates for mounting. It's about $1,000. more than I expected. Again it's one of those times where I have to think about it. Let it snow !

Re: Bushy\'s 110

Just another note regarding the backhoe...........

Yesterday I was digging with the hoe on the 110. I had the bucket in the bottom of a four foot post hole cleaning it out.

While curialing the bucket in away that the front teeth are coming in contact with solid material. In this digging situation the boom lock was move back and forth depending on which way the bucket was being rolled. It was actually making a lite snapping sound.

As you know the boom lock is on the other end and sits on top of the sub frame and the sub frame is connected to the swing frame by pins. I do not understand how this hook and latch is moving. Unless the pins are moving. That would not be good.

This morning, I'll take a mental note of the possiable route of movement. As well, I will double check the part that are involved. Bushy

Re: Bushy\'s 110

I have a 110TLB on loan from my JD dealer.
I do not notice much difference between the loader lifting power of the 110 versus the 4700's 460 loader.
The 110 backhoe is excellent.

The hydraulics noise is louder than the 4700. Have you noticed a high noise level on your 110?

Also the plastic fuel tank leaks.

Re: Bushy\'s 110

Turbotec Tony...........

Yes there is alot of hydralic noise. And it seems to be high pitched.

I recently used a loader on a 5000 series JD and I thought the 110 was much better. The 110 was quicker and the ground speed in relationship to the speed of the loader was far better due to the infinite variability of the hydrostatic transmission which the 5000 did not have. I find the 110's loader to be quit snappy. Of course this is not the same comparison as you are making nor do I know the model # of the loader on the 5000. Though it was a 1999 year model.

Before I purchased the 110 I tried a 1987 JD 1050 model, thinking I would buy a used machine and put a hoe on it. The loader on that was really slow though the tractor would climb right over the pile of dirt.

The tractors that I compare mostly are the two I traded, the one was a Ford 4500 and it's loader was strong both in lifting and curaling. It was quick as well. It was 1969 technology. That was a 54 hp tractor with almost a yard bucket. The other was a 1959 Ford 600 series TLB. It had a narrow bucket with add on snow buckets [you know you bolt them on to the existing bucket].

As you know the 110 is leps and bounds ahead of that old girl but when I had her a working I thought that I really had something. The rollback and lift was quicker than that 1050.

I've been reporting what goes on with my 110 since I got it. I would say that I am happy with it. And I trust that the things that are wrong with it, wheather it is workmanship or design will be made rigth by John Deere. Bushy

Re: Bushy\'s 110

Bushy,

The dealer picked up the 110TLB today. I leaned that this unit belongs to JD. It is a pre-production model, (s/n 003). Therefore, it does not have the improvements that the production units have.
This unit will be returned to JD for complete disassembly and evaluation of the wear and tear from in service use.
