A few years back I started this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/70321-fried-apple-pies.html

Now I have another recipe I would like to share...Butterscotch Supreme:licking: I told my wife it would be nice to have one this weekend and thought I just had to share this.

Butterscotch Supreme

Step 1: 1 ½ cup self-rising flour
1 stick margarine
¾ cup pecans or walnuts
Melt margarine; add flour & nuts. Spread into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Let cool.

Step 2 1 eight ounce package cream cheese (room temp.)
1 cup powdered sugar
½ of large (16 ounce) container Cool Whip
Mix and spread thin over cooled crust.

Step 3 2 packages instant butterscotch pudding
3 cups milk
Beat together and spread over cream cheese mixture.

Step 4 Spread top with remaining Cool Whip. Sprinkle with nuts. Use coconut if desired. Chill for 4 hours before serving.
(A favorite from my college days. May substitute any flavor of pudding.)

My roommate in college girlfriend introduced me to this and it has been a favorite ever since. My wife makes it sugar free so I can have a second helping:D

I have her add a little extra butterscotch to the recipe:licking: Does not sound like much but dang its good!!

I need to do some plowing Saturday and a nice desert would encourage me to...take a couple extra breaks:D

Yep, it does sound good. My Dad loved butterscotch, and I'm pretty fond of it myself.
