Buy a backhoe attachment, or get a contractor in?

That is a rather unconventional looking thumb, but I suspect that it does work just fine.

I dug an Infiltration system (Leach Field) in my yard the Rocks were so big that I could not grab them with the bucket and thumb.
I had to get under them with the bucket and slide them up the trench wall and carefully pull them out.
I lost a few and they roled back into the trench.

I weld and Fabricate stuff so I added the pockets to mount the ripper teeth.
It works like a Grapple now and I am limited by the Hydraulic strength of the backhoe not how long the fingers are.
I have picked up 20 foot long trees Boulders and grabbed a bunch of other stuff with it and it works great.
I want a Front mounted Grapple but I can not find enough use to justify the Cost,
and this new thumb addition cost me about about $80 to make so it will be my low end grapple until I can justify a real one. 20190525_112816.jpg20190525_112816.jpg20190616_145542.jpeg

Works GREAT for a counter balance when lifting heavy stuff up with the front end loader as well.
