OK so this is what ended up happening. I got the flu on December 23rd and it didn't let up until middle of January. After a week of feeling like at least I was almost sure I wasn't going to die my granddaughter came to stay with us because she got the flu and couldn't go to her day care plus mom and dad didn't want to get sick so we kept her for a week. What a bad decision, I ended up getting another strain and ended up in bed again for a few more weeks !!!!

Anyway so I couldn't buy the darn tractor before the 31st to use for last year's income tax but I just bought it and they delivered it yesterday. A nice shiny Branson 4520C.

Now I need to know who is using anti-freeze and who is using windshield wiper liquid in their tires because I was just reminded of when I bought my new Massey before I filled the tires, this thing bounces like a rabbit !!!! I've been researching all afternoon.

Sorry to hear about you catching the flu, something is whooping on my right now and I suspect that is it. Like they say, pics or it didn't happen. Be careful using automotive antifreeze, it is illegal in tires in a lot of places because it is so easy to kill cats and dogs with just a small leak. I have heard good things about using the polypropylene glycol RV antifreeze (like the $3 per gallon stuff from WalMart), won't harm animals and is inexpensive.

Thanks. I was considering the RV liquid until I saw this video. It's more expensive than windshield wiper fluid because it costs the same per gallon but it can't be diluted or it freezes just like plain water. The windshield wiper liquid can be diluted a lot and still doesn't freeze overnight in a 0 degree freezer.

Here in East Texas, and you're a little south of here, you know we get single digit temperatures for maybe a few hours once or twice a year so I know windshield wiper liquid will technically work fine, just looking for real world experiences.

Can't help with the wiper fluid questions, can't really use that up here. My rears are filled with Rimgaurd.

Post pics of your new tractor when you feel better. We like tractor pics.

If you fill your tires any of the mentioned products will work the rim guard will get you the most weight.
You say your tractor bounces too much, what pressure do you have in the rear tires?
I'm going to assume that you have the R4 tires, have you considered iron weights for around a $1000 you can have 1000+ pounds bolted on the rear wheels,
some posters here think loaded tires are the best, I don't I prefer iron, it doesn't suck up as much power, it doesn't rock the tractor when stopping,
the ride is better with iron over filled tires and any tire repair is much easier and cheaper.
Also being in East Texas how long are your below freezing spells a few hours or a day or two, it would take several hours of freezing temperatures to ice up tire fill even plain water,
if the tractor was in a shed even longer.
Enjoy

Unless dealer lowered the pressure the tires likely have the max (or maybe more) air pressure recommended by the tire manufacturer. This may be that way for transporting since a high pressure tire wont compress when chained down.
I suggest lower the pressure to 12 PSI and see how the ride is then.
If after you decide on your liquid ballast, keep the same pressure after you fill the tire with liquid enough to cover the top of the rim.
Depending on your traction needs, you may need liquid and iron weights to get you to the traction you need.

This might help. I did an overview video of my LS XR 4040. Might help you get a closer look without actually going to a dealer. LS XR4040 Overview - YouTube
