Buy new or a Used JD 332?

I was just about to lay into the guys trying to encourage you to back away from the 332. That model is a well respected design among the devoted JD LGT community. Then I looked at the pictures. Unless the color settings on your camera are horribly screwed up, it looks like he painted the wheels and deck white and the body some horrible forest green. No self-respecting JD enthusiast would have done that. Don't give up on getting a good used diesel JD LGT, just give up on that one. If he mickey-moused the paint job, you can bet the farm he mickey-moused any mechanical repairs that were done.

Jeffinsgf is right in that normally I'd highly recomend the 332, whith the caution about keeping the cooling system clean. They were and are awsome machines. It was just that this one with it's add on decals, and high price that the seller was so quick to drop, set off alarms in my head to be carefull about THIS one.

Sorry about the color in the images, I had to travel about 80 miles to see it on Sunday evening and it was about dark when I arrived in the middle of nowhere. The lights in his shop we poor at that end so I used the camera in night vision mode which made everything a bit odd in color, IR radiation results in a green shift etc..In all fairness, this has been a very balanced set of responses, thanks for the comments. I am steering myself towards something heavier than the new X300 models right now.
There is the "you get what you pay for" and in my case it is beginning to sound like "I want something of decent quality, even if I am just mowing a small amount of lawn".
