Buying Advice Buy now or in February?

/ Buy now or in February? #11
I got a really good price from the dealer in Pennsylvania where I bought my L4400. 2009 and sold it three years ago. Itç—´ just a matter of putting A big chunk of money down and having a monthly payment on a machine that I will literally not use till April. The machine will be used on my vacation home 150 miles north of where I live.
I had first looked at the L 4701 and then he said for the money I should go with the MX5200. And then in February the MX 6000 came out. I have 60 acres of very hilly property that I go up and down he recommended going to the four-cylinder turbo would be better.

Try to be patient!
By the Spring, it is very likely that the right deal will come to you.

High demand, low inventoty, and, at best, average incentives indicate a poor time to buy.

No one can predict the future.

SDT

Twenty percent off MSRP, 0% interest, 0 $ down, no payments for 90 days is an average incentive?

That would likely not be very realistic in Fairbanks, Alaska!

I just orderd my loaded MX 5400 with cab with the 20% off equine discount.. if your putting a chunk of cash down I would pull the trigger now with the discount at existing pricing.

Talked to my LS dealer and in three months they sold as many machines as all of last year. Very sparse inventory. If you already have a tractor, the risk of waiting and inventory levels getting worse is not as great. If you do not have a tractor, and need one in the spring, it will suck.

I am going through the same thing with a ZT I want to get and have decided to wait. My rider is running fine and is only 8 years old. But If I found a deal, like 20% off, I would pull the trigger now.

I'm in a similar boat. I don't NEED the tractor now, but ideally in the Spring I would procure one. If that becomes mid Summer or late Summer......so be it. I'm not going to chase MSRP and paying premiums for dealing installed items as they apparently have more work than they can shake a stick at.

I have some projects that would require said tractor but if they don't get done next year, that is fine. The winter snow removal duties the tractor will take over are fine with the tracked Honda.....the 500' driveway only takes me ~60-90 mins. Of course as I get older I would prefer to do that from the seat of the tractor !!!!

Hopefully as we get to mid to late 2021 the COVID threat will be reduced and manufacturing will get closer to normal.

i've been in the building industry for over 20 years... in the last 90 days the amount of lumber surcharges and crazy increases I have been getting is rediculous.. we have been seeing all products go up from 10-35% and I have never seen it all go away once it goes up this much.. so basically I decided to order my new kubota last week before they announce price increases based on they're large demand and raising costs in materials.. and on top of that getting the 20% of made it a no brainer.. just my opinion, but if they haven't raised pricing yet since May it is coming.. and will be a fair amount. so if your able to financially without straining your finances I would not wait..

I decided to not wait for the zero turn.
Found a new 48" SCAG Liberty at a good price.
Felt I really couldn't wait very long.....I'll be 80 in 9 weeks

If you wait too long, you won't be needing a new mower. Someone grounds keeper, will be mowing OVER YOU.

I am looking to buy a MX 6000 4x4 hst. FEL 3rd function on joy stick R4 tires loaded in rear. Front weights. I mostly mow fields 7 flail mower. Screen dirt and materials. Grapple for moving brush and trees. My question is do I order it now with a turnaround delivery in one month which would maybe give me a couple of weeks use before the close of the season for me. Or do I wait till February with a possible price increase, COVID-19 outbreak, and if the factory stops production? Thoughts ?
Thank you

I can't see anything definite in those concerns that you list. You know exactly what you want, while the future Price, Covid, and Factory Production are all guesses. You and I can't predict what we don't know. Each or all might as easily go one way as the other, and nothing you do will affect any of them.
I guess I don't understand what there is to gain by waiting.
