The plot thickens. In a email to Kubota, they say that the L39 along with other models in that class will have a new "Interim Tier IV compliant
engine" for the new emissions laws. Another dealer i called on this stated a possiable increse in HP with the newer engine, 1 or 2 hp. But with about a $400.00 increse in price. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Manufactured, assembled, to me they are the same. I know the parts that make up the tractor are from all over the world. Engine is Japanese. Last I knew New Holland belonged to Fiat (Italian). The statement that the tractor was manufactured by the Japanese in not accurate. Greg

Let's see, screwing the fenders on and fitting the wheels VS making the parts. Hmmmm.....one employs 0.01 US workers per tractor and the other employs about 15 when you count all the supporting people making and servicing the machines that make the machines etc. (OK, I made up the numbers, but you get the point!).

Maybe to YOU there is no difference, but to me there is a HUGE difference. Not that it makes any difference, they are all made overseas and 3 screws put on here to fool gullible people into thinking that they are not 99% imported content.

I wouldn't worry about the resale on a tractor, unless you plan on trading it every couple years. If so I'd look at a lease. :D

Let's see.
You're pretty hot to get the tractor and you ARE going to get one, right.

Price increase on the horizon?
Can't sleep at night?
Time with tractor now vs time without tractor now OMG.
Wouldn't you like it...strike that ...love it right now?
Will today's tractor do for you what tomorrow's will?
Another way to put it is tomorrow's tractor can't do didly for you today.

Go buy it and start using it before it's gone.
You'll finish paying it off x months sooner.
Plus you'll have completely modified it by the time you'd have bought the new one. So you'd have to wait that much longer to do that too. :)

I appreciate the sentiment, but your tractor, unless very old, was assembled in Georgia, but it was manufactured by the Japanese. And please believe me, that does not make me happy. I can't help but believe, if the Stars and Bars were flying, we wouldn't have that sort of problem.

Ah Sleepy Ford. If the Stars and Bars were still flying ( we never surrendered the 3rd National by the way), then it would be understood that governments are instituted among men with the consent of the governed. Is quoting the Declaration of Independence count as being political? If so, oops.

Year model doesn't matter with price but it does matter when the dealer is invoiced from the tractor mfg. A unit built in '07 but not ordered til '08 by the dealer will most likely be paying the new price.

My advice is to buy now. Sure the dollar is down but I can almost guarantee you most tractor companies will be having a price increase at the beginning of '08. You could always take the chance and wait to see if the dealer will go down on something in Jan. they had on their lot before the beginning of '08.

Besides, the L39 is a sweet set up (if that's what you're contemplating). I love the big time hydraulic capacity. How can you resist??

Isn't it great spending other people's money???!!!

as everyone has said buy the tractor now.because if you wait the price will go up on the tractor your waiting.honestly the best time to buy tractors or equipment is winter.because its the end of the year.an tractors or equipment left on the dealers lots will cost them in taxes.an you can take it off of the 2007 taxes.
