Maybe that is your problem fivestring, you are playing to much and not allowing enough time for your tractor. Sounds like you need to relax and live a little, (on your tractor). You aren't getting much more time on it, than most of the greys got in Japan. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

it would take me 8-10 years to get 500 hours!

One thing to remember Gary. Antifreeze goes bad just sitting also.[OK the addatives go bad, you know what I mean /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif] If you get in the habbit of changing it every year, you will be ahead of the game.

You're right. I gotta get more seat time.
Work gets in the way of my hobbies! Just trying to find time for woodworking, the bluegrass band (shows and practice) and gardening... not enough hours in the day.
I thought about playing the banjo while sitting on the tractor but the wife just gave me "the stare". Go figure...

Paul,
what are you doing up so early for?

Were you delivering gas to your homebuilder? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Anybody know what the usual cause for the valves to start sticking could be? I have always used 10-30 Castrol oil and changed it every 3000 miles. The oil looks dirty when I change it which I suppose is normal.

Always up early. I got three dogs that will not sleep past 4:30-5:00 /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Now as far a a banjo playing tractor driver? Nope, don't know if I would want to see that eather. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

BTW, what kind of woodworking do you do? I am into building boats.

Responded to 2 of these coolant posts already. Will say the general consensus in here is buy from the dealer and protect thy warranty, although nothing you can buy buy is going to waste it within the standard 2-3 yr warranty period. By the way, I'm a master auto and master truck technician and do use the long life antifreeze. Only 1 post has mentioned distilled water¿ Water is 50% of the mix and if you're not using distilled, you're abusing your tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Please montior & maintain the DCA/SCA in ANY diesel engine.
