I assume your unit is four wheel drive, if so I hope you have the same type tires on all four wheels, if not and you have turf on the rear and ag's on the front, you may soon start to hear a really loud clicking noise.

Yes I have all 4 the same, and yes to 4 wheel drive (8 tires total, though 2 turfs are at the dealers now, one they lost), Thank You for pointing that out though I never knew that.

Anyone on the 1st half please (noise)??

tire slime. .

Is that fix a flat or is tire slime the brand??

Thank You, I found it on amazon.com and ordered a gallon.

Slime works great but I won't use it...Tough on wheels, especially alloys, and the tire change guys will penalize you if they hit that stuff, it makes a real mess for them.

To each his own though.

That being said, I do have a Slime emergency kit in my quad but I'll try plugs first, liquid as an absolute last resort.

Thanks, anything on this

- When my kubota is running idle, it sounds great, BUT since this is my first tractor with diesel I think the next is normal but want to make sure.
- When running at 2K to 2.5k on the tachometer, I hear a very slight exhaust and or ticking, it is very slight and has done this since day one, I should have asked before but never got around to it, any insight on this please?

I have never Slimed, almost but never pulled the trigger. I've always plugged holes in tires and tubed when rims leaked. Many swear by Slime though. My F3080 is losing air in one drive tire now and I've aired it up two or three times. I'll see if I can't find an air bubble on tire when it warms up and if not I may, may, may go the Slime route and will probably never have to deal with complaining tire guys. :D

I resisted the slime until I started getting flats from thorn (locust?) tree thorns. Ever since I used it the first time, I am a huge believer in it. I put in the slime in my BX2370-1 as soon as it rolled off the trailer.

Considering how often I will need new tires on my tractor (probably never), I'm not worried about the "tire guys" (which is probably me) charging extra.

Dfran do you have hydrostatic drive? My l3901 has a whine from hst and a rattle from motor running 2500 rpms. I suppose it could be ticking?

Yes, it's hydrostatic, It sounds like an exhaust and or slight ticking, all is very very slight. It sounded like this since day one, and I never owned one of these before.
Thank You!!

Without actually hearing it, we'd just be guessing, but that sounds like a typical diesel engine noise. If you ever get a fill up at a truck stop and take a moment to listen to the big rigs idling, you hear those same ticking sounds, only louder and more pronounced. The thing about diesels is that they are much higher compression engines than a gas engine, since it's compression rather than a spark plug that causes ignition. So everything is working at those higher pressures... the valves, the fuel injectors, etc., and there's more mechanical noise created. Also, diesels are particularly noisy before they are fully warmed-up.

Tractor manufacturers also don't pay as much attention to sound deadening as car manufacturers do. Maybe not a bad thing, since lots of poofy sound insulation also makes great habitat for small furry critters! But those engine noises can make some of the sheet metal vibrate, adding to the tractoring experience.
