I have a BX24 and I am in the market for a 5 or 6 foot Landscape or York rake. Thought I would start hear and see if anyone was selling theirs. Also any input on which one, model, make and such would be helpful. I am thinking York, Landpride, King Kutter are the top models. I am planning on getting one with gauge wheels as most people seems to recommend them.

I live in CT

I have a FarmForce rake and box blade I picked up at Tractor Supply here in NYS.

The rake has done a great job, Only thing I'd like is the gauge wheels. You can't beat it for the price. I used a 10% coupon and paid about $725 for the pair with tax. I took advantage of 6 months 0% no payments and spread the payments over the 6 months at about $150-200 a month.

Best think about them, is they come in Kubota orange.

thumbs up on the FarmForce brand from TSC - if you are a very heavy user I'd go for another brand but for recreational user you can not beat the price.

Forget finding used - any 3 Pt impliment is hard to finid used......and in decent shape. :)

I have a woods 72" landscape rake that I would sell, an LR72 I believe. I bought it new about 7 years or so. Very nice, needs nothing. It probably has 25 or less hrs of use on it. I'm 40 miles NW of Albany, NY near Gloversville. No wheels but you can still get them.

How much are you thinking? I am suppose to be traveling to Hoosick Falls in a couple of weeks and could shoot over then. If you prefer to discuss it privately my email is mjbrewster@gmail.com

Just a quick comment on rake size. I recently picked up a BX24 with a 5' landscape rake. I've used the rake a lot since bringing it home as I have about 1 1/2 acres out back that was just cleared. Based on my experience the BX24 should easily handle the 72" rake as the 60" one doesn't seem to overload the tractor at all. Of course I guess the type of junk you're dragging would make a difference but I would go with a 72" if you have a choice.

Just my $.02 worth,

Jim

A 72" rake loaded with topsoil can stop a subcompact in its tracks. I only bought a 72" when I bought my subcompact figuring I'd have it for when I upgraded machines. The 72" is much better suited to my current machine. It really was a bit too big for my subcompact.

I would recommend a 60" rake for the little BX.

A lot of individuals size a landscape rake and rear scrape blade to a tractor by selecting a landscape rake or rear scrape blade approximately six inches wider than the tractor rear tire width when the blade or rake is angled. Another thing to consider is if you have an extremely wide rake or scrape blade you will not be able to reverse the blade or rake. The end of the rake or scrape blade will strike either the tire or lift arm preventing rotation. I personally perfer the option of being able to rotate the scrape blade or landscape rake over having one extremely wide. I have also found that I personally can do a better job site preparation with a scrape blade or landscape rake that is not sticking out so far on each side of the tractor.

I am going to look at two rakes tonight.
The first one is made by York and is 6 foot, no gauge wheels for $350 pretty good shape.
The second one I do not know the manufacturer though it is red. It is in better shape and is 5 foot with gauge wheels for $400.
Do I go with 5 foot or 6 foot or does it really not matter.
I know York manufactured rakes have an excellent reputation.
