I seem to be having trouble finding out what years the L2601 was manufactured? I bid on one on E-bay and it only has 399 hours on it. Seems like a good deal for a 4wd 26hp tractor. The year is not specified but it looks like new! Although I do not know much about Kioti, what I have read is all good.

I saw that tractor. It is a grey market Kioti or more appropriately a Daedong. The model made for america (2614) was somewhere around 1987-88 or so in model year.
According to tractordata.com it was sold from 88 to 93 (the american version). I did not think it was available here that long.
I don't have my Kioti book handy.

Hey thanks for the reply, think I am winning this tractor at 4200$ , does that sound like a good deal to you in your opinion? Seems to me that it is because of the low hours on it. Paint ond body look exellent in the pics.

there's a lot of interest in that item and there's a long time to go...I would guess the price will increase quite a bit before it ends...

it still amazes me how some items go for so much higher than they are worth

Oh almost any tractor that size is worth $4200. BUT it will go higher. A used 3054 (more horse and American Model) will go for around 6500-8500 depending on condition w/no loader. A couple of guys around here are selling newer model 3054's with loaders for $10500. Then there is delivery etc. Figure everything in before making your final bid.
Not sure exactly what ALL is different on the grey Kioti's.

Thanks for the reply, any hints on where I should stop bidding before I drive from Logan, Oh 7 hours to North Carolina?

Buying a gray market of any brand can be risky becasue parts are not readily available here in the States. I'm not sure how it is on the Kioti grays, but without being restricted by US laws, it's possible there may be very different parts on this tractor compared to the American counterpart. Also, you may have trouble getting anyone to work on it, so if you're not mechanical and know something about tractors, I'd think carefully before paying any amount for this tractor.
I know that parts are much more available these days for other makes of gray market tractor like Yanmar, Mitsubishi, Iseki etc., but Kioties are not that common in the gray market to have a lot of parts suppliers. American dealers would not necessarily have the parts if they differ from US bound Kioties. John

Not sure that is a rather personal thing to work out. How valuable is your time, do you have the equipment to haul it and of course fuel cost. In a gas powered truck down and back will be around $300 at least depending on the truck. If you want to stop by, I do know of a couple for sale in our area.
