I thought mahindra been taking over #1 in North American tractor sales.? In any case, for a new tractor owner just make sure you have the lift capacity, hydraulic flow for rear remote attachments, it’s sized to enable you to tow it if you were travelling somewhere with it. And horsepower to use those desired attachments. Pto hp is as important as engine hp. After all it is what you consider hen attaching your tiller or snowblower to. I’m not brand loyal , a good tractor is a good tractor. Dealer support makes a difference as well.

Mahindra sells virtually all their tractors in India They’re not even close to a North America leader.

There are 1 billion people in India where Mahindra is dominant.

There are 1 billion people in China, where Mahindra sells a lot of tractors.

Perhaps 20% of these 2 billion people farm, therefore potential Mahindra customers.

That is a large field of potential customers for Mahindra IN ASIA.

For your location and use with a snow blade you may want to verify that whatever you buy has adequate tire clearances for tire chains,
at least 2 inches and preferably 3 on the inside and 3 to 4 is nice for the fenders, but 2 will work if the speed is kept low.

Someday an aspiring marketing or business student will write a thesis on how this two brand oligopoly developed.

We studied that in school.... When a country decides to industrialize they look around to see if they have a source of iron ore and energy - usually coal. And if so, the first machines they build are technically simple machines to move things and grow food. Yep, tractors and railroads. Almost all countries that can, end up following the same path.

A few years later this new industial country is in a position to manufacture more than they need of tractors and railroads, but its the tractors that are easiest to export.
So they fancy them up and begin to export tractors. Bingo. Lots of tractors hit the USA.

LS MT225HE

The LS is far and away the best price of the 3, by about $5k - including a back blade, landscape rake, FEL, and a front snow blade. It even has mid PTO, whereas the JD and the Kubota do not. Why is the LS so much cheaper ?? Any thing I should know about LS that would prevent me from buying one ??

You might want to look at the new 225S just hitting dealers. People seem to like it.

LS doesn't throw money into fancy glass and chrome showrooms, so less overhead. Quality of dealer support varies though, so get a feel for yours when you shop.

I have a New Holland Boomer 25. It's made by LS and is a model LS J2030H. I have never hit anything and both plastic fenders are serious cracking where they bolt on. About 3/4 the way cracked now. Not abuse but a manufacturing design issue. Very noisy HST compared to Kubota. HST and HYD filters and oil changed at 50 and 300 hours. At 300 hours oil was very contaminated. Many vibrations and squeeks compared to a Kubota. HST cooling fan is open on the bottom and is easy broken by weeds. I had to have a guard made. Having both a Kubota and a LS the Kubota is a Lexus and the LS is a Yugo. Tractor currently has 404 hours on it. The tractor has never ran with a broken HST fan. Tractors with a oil cooler are a better design for keeping temps lower.

Whatever you buy, consider adding a third function to the loader and a grapple. A grapple will be very helpful cleaning up the mess from the timber harvest.
