Buying a Vehicle - Chapter 2

Yeah, we've always been pretty car restless too up until 5 or 6 years ago. We've had 20 vehicles but that's over 17 years. 13 new and 7 used. We've also moved 17 times in that 17 years. I guess we have a tough time staying focused/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Adult Attention Deficit Disorder!

Wow, you guys do move a lot, and change vehicles a lot. I always though that we had, but I just now figured it up, and in the nearly 37 years we've been married, we've lived 7 different places (not counting 5 years on the road as full time RVers), had 17 different cars and pickups (not counting a couple that our teenage daughters drove), 4 motorcycles, one pickup camper, two travel trailers, one fifth wheel, and two motorhomes./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Jeff - I agree totally !!

We have been married 7 years. Moved 5 times. Scary hey. Lately things are settling down a bit and now we are here I don't intend to go anywhere.

Gotta have toys and when I get finished with all I can do to one (read waste all my money on one) I move on to the other.

So Bird.. - Yes we have had the 16 cars, 3 boats, box trailer, camper trailer, owned 3 houses, block of land. Have car, boat and plane licence.

AAAGGGHHH it's scary when you look at it.

Lucky kids have come along now and slowing us down !!!!

Oh but it is all fun isn't it ???

Yep, and I didn't mention one canoe and one flat bottom boat (used the same 2hp outboard on both) and the 15' bass boat with the 55hp outboard./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Or the 11 different cars I had before I got married. Our two daughters did only have to change schools once. That was one of the things I hated about moving. When I was growing up, I changed schools 12 times in 12 years; only 9 different schools, though. There were 3 of the schools I attended twice (moved away, then moved back/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif).

We waited 10 years after marriage to have kids and our oldest is 7. We definately wanted all this moving out of our system before they hit school. So, we built our dream house in Tucson, AZ and managed to get into the best school district in town all ready for Kindergarden. What happens next, work falls apart and since there are very few good jobs in Tucson (at least one that will support the new house in the good district) we move yet again. Then, to top it all off about two months after arriving in SC to a house that I am very happy with the company has a merger and they ask us if we'd like to go to Florida. NOOOOOOO!!!! When I was a kid, my parents only moved twice and only one of those was while I was in school. With the exception of one house in NJ for 5 years, they would stay in one place for 20 years or more at a time and they never bought a new car until after they retired. Can't figure out where I get all this from. Must have issues going on somewhere though.

Yep my folks are still in the house they built when they married (30+ years) and their folks (1 still kicking) were/are still in their marriage houses.

Things have changed with the modern pace of life and work transfers etc.

I moved here (Country - Town of 60,000) from the City (2,000,000) for work and when transfered back to the city, I said - uhuh - I'm staying here and quit (govt. job) and started my own business.

That was 5 years ago and still going well!!!

Funny how silly decisions can be the right ones !!
