I am looking at two small utility tractors with front end loaders. One is a MF 135, Gas for $4,500 the other is a AC 5020 diesel for $4,000. Condition is about equal. I have no experience with either brand. Looking for recommendations and advice on reliability and parts availability.

I don't know anything about the AC, but the MF 135 was one of the most ever sold tractors. They are very dependable, with very little that can go wrong. If it does, it is normally very easy to repair. As far a gas vs diesel, I don''t like gas, but that gas engine is one of the best in tractors. If the 135 is in any shape at all, the price isn't to bad.

Thats not a bad price at all and the Massey is still very easy to get parts for.

If the MF was in Tulsa I would be trying to get to it first /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Most dealers around here will give you top dollar on a 135 trade in because they know they can sell them quick. The local Jd dealer tries to get my dads 135 all the time. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

They are both good tractors, and I believe parts are easily found for both. Try this. Contact a Tisco Parts dealer or go online to Tisco parts. They provide parts for all sorts of tractors and could probably give you some advice. Also, you might call Southern Global in MS.

They are a major supplier of parts and can tell you which is easier to part. John

Funny thing is we also have a Massey 135 gas was my grandpa's back in the day bought new from the JD dealer I work for. Way back in the early 80's we still used to carry Massey Ferguson machines and I still see the old combines come in for repair. I like Massey now and then.

I agree with Jerry, the MF 135, the AC5020 is the same as a MF 1030 in think, and parts are Very difficult to find and are very expensive, on the other hand the 135 is the opposite, parts are plentiful from many sources, and reasonably priced

My father recently purchased a MF135 Diesel for about 3500.00 it has some wear and tear on it, but it seems to work great.. we had to replace the hydraulic filter to get the 3pt. hitch to work properly, but other then that.. it fires up every time.
