Thanks for the extra detail on the scoop, didn't know they were made reverse-able, I'll keep that in mind when I look for one.

In all reality, that sounds like me, I plan for the future, but generally make due with what I have.

Good luck. You'll probably find one and guarantee you will like it. Look at farmyards with old tractors sitting around. You should be able to find one. Looks like there are still two 3pt reversible scoops still in production. I can't believe that many are sold these days. Surprised they aren't giving them away... One looks like the old round tube Massey...but more lightly built.

The old red ones are still out there, and no doubt better than the newer reproductions. Scoops never were a common implement, and the people that have them laying around probably don't know what to do with them. Too good to throw away, but of no earthly use to anyone with a loader. 70 years ago scoops tended to be used for moving manure and cleaning stables a lot, so were often rusty. To offset that, they were made of extremely heavy thick steel to stand up to the corrosion.

Rear scoops are particularly handy when mounted on those old heavy American farm tractors that didn't have power steering. Tractors like the Farmall, Fords, JDA & B, IH, Olivers, and Massey Fergusons. Folks with those old farm tractors love their rear scoops and that sort of farm might be a good source for one. People who use them today are sort of a implement sub-cult of the old tractor hobbyists. Around here I'd expect to give about $150 or so for a nice one.

Like someone said, the only knock on a 3pt scoop is that a FEL is so much better in every way

adding a loader later ain't cheap. I did that. could have gotten a better deal had I bought tractor and loader at the same time.
You will want power steering and power shift with a loader. You can't add Power shift later
