Nah, it is someone from Los Angeles area... You guys complain about California; most of the poor regulation is coming from San Francisco and Los Angeles legislators.
The Energy Star televisions and other items will be affected by other sources more than California(read San Francisco and Los Angeles) regulation. The US-EPA, the EU, and Korea are pushing major Energy Star power level reductions. The EPA had tight regulations for PC power levels; the EU and Korea surpassed them for PC's and many other items.
They're looking for less than a watt of power for a PC in Standby(Remember, your PC never really turns OFF; it goes to standby. Only to turn it off is the main switch for the powersupply, IF it has one).
WalMart announce a while back, that they will start to phase out PC's, and some other appliances, if they do not meet Energy Starpower specs. Not California, Not Los Angeles, Not EPA; WalMart...
Note also, WalMArt is doing trials at a number of stores around the country; they will not give you bags for you purchase. You either need to bring you own bags(preferably reusable), or buy their reusable bags. They want to get rid off all the plastic bags that wind up in the landfill.
I agree on the plastic bags, (bottles too) I could pick up enough bags on the way to Walmart to shop for a year.. Thanks for your reply..good local information..
