Thanks, Piston!!
Buickanddeere, the Amish don't often sell to the "English", but if you have a connection to their culture they will consider selling to you. I have a friend who is entrenched in the Amish in the Fort Plain area, as he does a lot of business with them and I have other friends who also are accepted by them. My wife and I were on the board of a goat and sheep dairy cooperative which included several Amish farms, and my father did business with the Amish in Lancaster Pa. for years. Between our friend's association with them, and our background, we have been accepted as people who will live well with them. We have been shopping at Amish stores for several weeks now, and we will be using Amish contractors on our new farm. We are very much looking forward to having our lives intertwined with these hardworking and honest people. We are proud to say that we have already made several Amish friends and we are really looking forward to having them as neighbors. In fact all of our immediate neighbors will be Amish. We have met them, and they are more welcoming than any "English" neighbors that we've ever had. They have had their problems with us "English" and they can be very cautious. But if you show respect for their customs, they are very cordial.
