If you keep your pasture grass well maintained, you want a rear finish mower. Unless your letting it grow and knocking down 5' tall brush and foliage, you don't need a rotary cutter. I've even used a finish mower as a rotary cutter - albeit not the best idea, but it worked.
The quote sounds about right, I'd expect even a little more off.
I would question this Kubota dealer, though. The L2800 is no longer made, and although a nice tractor, is outdated. You'd be better off getting a B series Kubota, which is more comparable anyway.
