how big of an area do you plan doing those activites on? what part of the country are you in? these types of things help us make opinionated recommendations for you
Also, make sure you add stuff in your profile or the forum gods will frown.
50hp or better sounds like a pretty large hobby tractor but your land size would dictate that as well as your climate.
Eastern ON. The farm is 90 acres..but land is rented out. The lane way is 1/4 mile long and needs mowing and snow removal. Other than that just general hauling of wood..etc
Kubota M8540HDC, L5740HSTC, BX2200, BX2660, John Deere 425&1025R, Case, Massey Ferguson, Ford
Are you looking to get a cab? Some really good models do not offer cabs such as the Kubota MX5100. I use a Kubota L5030 HSTC for general utility stuff and really like it.
90 acres is a lot or not so much depending on what you are going to be doing with it. The 3 things you mention previously could easily be worked with a considerably smaller tractor. Mowing with a 50hp rig IMO is WAY over kill unless you are mowing all 90 acres. Snow removal covers a huge spectrum of variables. Plowing, blowing, snow pusher. I have a GL3940 cab and would not hesitate to use it for what you are describing and it is a 40hp tractor. It does not hurt to go bigger and you will be told by many here to do so but that may be a lot bigger than what you may need. You need to ask do you want features vs raw power. Also hp ratings only mean so much. It is more important as to how well the implements and attachments are rated and what is needed there. If you are not going to use it for plowing and field work I would ask if you plan to get a BH. I would seriously consider a B3000. You get the cab, A/C, heat, MMM option, front blower option and plenty of tractor for maintaining a driveway and still have the option for a BH.
What is your budget? To me if your plan is to mow with this tractor, what are you going to be mowing and how much area. A zero turn is really fast but mowing in A/C with a B3000 with MMM would be sweet. I believe anything bigger than a B3000 sized tractor for finish mowing with a tractor is impractical but that is just my opinion and would be up to debate. My L3940 cab has A/C but I will not be mowing with it for what I need. I will be fertilizing, seeding, aerating and raking with it along with many other chores. Getting a tractor with a cab will narrow your search considerably but IMO is well worth the investment.
20K is not going to get you a 50hp tractor with a cab. The B3000 equipped with front mount blower would be approximately in the mid 20's. Personally looking at that or a B3030 cab left over would be my focus with what you describe and your budget.
