Buying hoses? You need this

Now that you mention it, I had a hose made... it was sliced to length by a cutter and then fittings clamped on the ends.. only a perfunctory clean out with a finger of the shards of cut material... I didn't think about it at the time, but can easily see how this would clearly introduce contamination into the hydraulic system beyond the filter and directly to the working components.

Good point!

Thanks for that info Andy! I'm getting hyd hoses for attachments and now I know to at least shoot water then air to clean some of the crud out.

If I were you guys, I would ask your hose shop to get it in. Tell them the first guy in the area to get it will have all your business. The DHH unit costs $1450. Mine didn't cost me near that. I figure over the course of a year, purchasing this system and the plugs with it adds maybe 50 cents to the cost of each hose. And I'm just a one man show in Pigsknuckle Pa. For the big boys, well under a dime a hose. Plus, I have customers that come to me just because I clean the hose, so it not only pays for itself but ends up making me money.
